This lip balm is a rich and sensual blend for dry, chapped lips. This lip balm can also double as a burn salve if needed (if you don't mind a bit of chocolate on your skin). It is a very nourishing and moisturizing blend.

All of my lip balms are on the softer side. I don't like hard lip balm. These will harden up in cooler temperatures, but with the press of a finger, or against your lips, they will melt perfectly.

When you are wearing the lip balm you will also inhale the scent emitted from the essential oils used, affecting the limbic system which controls our emotions, memories, and sense of smell. This allows the emotional support provided by each oil while moisturizing your lips.

Essential oils are lipid soluble, meaning they pass through the blood brain barrier very easily. Cell membranes are made of lipids and that allows the oils to slip easily through cell walls and start helping the cell immediately. When you apply oils topically to lips and skin they will provide relief very quickly.

Let's look at the essential oils used and their properties:

Peppermint (Mentha piperita) ------------------------
Peppermint is really good for cold sores and soothing burned skin. The cooling effect it has on the skin will sooth painful cracked lips. Peppermint also has antibacterial, antiseptic, anti-inflammatory, and antiviral properties. It is an invigorating scent that enhances the other oils it is paired with.

Emotionally, peppermint can help with anger and depression.

Cocoa Absolute (Theobroma cacao) ------------------------
Cocoa absolute is not a true essential oil due to its solvent-based extraction method. It is an aphrodisiac, antibacterial, antioxidant, and anti-aging. It helps maintain elasticity in the skin and is a wonderful source of vitamin C. Your skin is one of the last organs to receive vitamin C when it is ingested and distributed. Applying cocoa topically can give your skin a boost.

Emotionally, cocoa is a relaxer and sexual stimulant. It has all sorts of feel good components like tryptophan and anandimide.

Ingredients: Organic Coconut Oil, Organic Cocoa Butter, Organic Beeswax, Organic Shea Butter, Organic Cacao, Organic Avocado Oil, Vitamin E Oil, Therapeutic Grade Peppermint Essential Oil and Cocoa Absolute

Please note that unrefined shea butter was used and has a grit to it that can create white dots in the lip balm. This is normal and nothing to worry about.

Usage: This product will melt in the heat. Store in a cool, dry place. They withstand the heat fairly well, but just be aware of where you leave it. A hot car in the summer might be a mess. I always take a jar with me when I go kayaking and it gets pretty hot out there. The lip balm does fine inside my dry bag. It stays solid, with only a bit of softening. Do not store in refrigerator as it will cause the kraft packaging to sweat when it warms up, which could damage the container. Do not get containers wet.

Packaged in 100% recycled biodegradable materials.

1/3 oz Jar: 1.59375" Dia x .8125" H
